The Isle of Lewis
The Isle of Lewis is the largest islands in the group of islands known as the Outer Hebrides or Western Isles off the west coast of Scotland. The main town of the region is Stornoway in the north east of Lewis. Over the last decade or so the Hebrides have seen a steady increase in the number of people visitng each year.
The most obvious reasons for such an increase in tourism is the amazing countryside, the massive number of important historical sites, the awesome beaches and the unique Hebridean culture. However, another reason is the fact that the folk of the Hebrides have settled, sometimes forcebly, in a wide variety of places around the world. Today many of the ancestors of these settlers are returning to the islands to trace their roots.
Throughout this site you will find a small selection of the accommodation available in this wonderful part of our blue planet. Over the next twelve months we will be working hard to add more guest house and other accommodation on the Isle of Lewis.
